Welcome to Gemma Pettit Psychotherapy & COnsulting

Psychotherapy & Mental Health Consulting from A UKCP & BACP Registered Practitioner.

Welcome. Each person has their own reason and motivation for entering therapy and they are all valid: You do not need to be in crisis to access support. We all have mental health and a right to look after it. I hope this website will provide answers to some of the questions you may have when deciding if therapy is right for you.

Some of the areas I work with include: Addiction, ADHD, Adult children of Emotionally Immature Parents, Anxiety, Autism, Body Image & Disordered Eating, Bereavement & Grief, Co-dependency, C-PTSD, PTSD, Relationship difficulties, Sensory processing sensitivity (highly sensitive people), Stress, Trauma and Work Stress.

In Person Psychotherapy & Counselling

Confidential Face to Face Sessions with an Experienced Practitioner.

“Am I living in a way which is deeply satisfying to me, and which truly expresses me?” Carl Rogers

My intention is to provide a space & therapeutic relationship in which you feel safe enough to explore and make sense of your feelings, thoughts and relationships, including the one with yourself.

My foundational training is an MSc from The Sherwood Psychotherapy Training Institute in Person Centred & Experiential Psychotherapy. This means that I work with you as the expert of your own life to explore and process your lived experiences to promote better mental health, increase self awareness & wellbeing.

Where appropriate, I offer some psycho-education and/or psychological and communications theory to help increase your understanding of yourself.

I am also trained in EMDR Therapy (Eye Movement & Desensitisation & Reprocessing) which I offer to clients I feel might benefit from this specific technique in addition to talking therapy. For more information on EMDR Please click here.

Your safety and confidentiality are always at the centre of my work.

I offer both short and long-term therapy to suit the clients needs and budgets.

Online therapy is an effective and convenient alternative to more traditional face to face therapy that can be accessed at a time and place to suit you. I offer appointments via Zoom.

Please Note: For those who are nervous about switching to online therapy, or aren’t as comfortable with technology, I offer a free set up service ahead of your appointment to help you get started and comfortable with this change in service.
